Rain drops keep falling on my head.. .and a couple of other things

Fat and cold rain drops greeted me as I walked out of work this morning. It sounded very pretty against the tin roof above my head, but as I stepped out into the rain I shivered a bit. It's 52 degrees now. I think the high is only ten degrees more, and the low ten degrees less. I love cold and rainy days. I love overcast skies. Tonight at work... I'm not even going to get into it. It could have been worse, but it could have been better. Shoulda woulda coulda but it tweren't! Thinking of replacing my sheet set with something else. I have a queen sized sheet set on a queen sized bed. However, the sheets are covering a mattress pad that I bought for the bed. It's one of those separate things that attatches to the bed like a sheet but has a pillowy top for comfort. I need to either buy king size sheets or something else entirely. The queen size fit, but it's snug and for someone who tosses and turns? The sheets come off so easily and because I've had to pull them on here and there it's torn in places. Seen a queen sized throw at walmart for $20.00. It's online, thinking about getting it and replacing the mattress sheet with it. If I can tuck it UNDER the mattress it would be so much better. Might also see about getting a king sized quilt instead. That way I can just put it on and tuck it under the mattress. What would you suggest I try? Sorta trying to be a cheapo.

Did you or have you tried it with the king size quilt? That sounds about the best idea.

I got a king size quilt that works nicely. It's a really soft blanket. It was only about $29.00 after all was said and done, so I might get a few more just to have for winter as well.

Hope work gets better at some point. Did you find a queen sized throw at Walmart? They have some interesting items. I use the Savings Catcher.

I went with amazon, king size quilt for a bit cheaper. I can't remember how much, around $25.00 though. Plus it will get to me on Saturday. I used to use savings catcher but I haven't been to walmart in around two months now. I get what I need from work, or online. I'm not the main grocery purchaser in the household anyhow.

It's still raining here (8 hours later) but I like it. I'm not out in it so that helps.

I think you should go for cheaper sheets.

I wish they would sell more sets where it was just the mattress sheet, or just the pillow cases.

It's not raining here. I have a twin size mattress. I got new sheets for my birthday. I thought my other sheets didn't fit, but I was putting them on wrong. But I love these new sheets.

I haven't had a twin mattress in years. I did have a futon for awhile and that was horrible for me to sleep on. It's hard to tell which way to put them on sometimes. Sometimes I'll put one end on, then another, and realize it's all wrong by the time I get the third end on and it won't fit.

I like to spend no more than $20.00 on a set if I can help it. Not always easy when sets for bigger beds start at $20.00. I just found a comforter which was $28.00. King size, so I bought it and will use it. I may buy more when I find a good deal on it.

I know that there are straps you can buy that attach to the sheets underneath the mattress to keep them attached. I used them years ago with my old bed. I have a king sized bed now and the sheets I bought were rather expensive but are a little over sized so there is more than enough room for them to fit and stay put. But it's a real problem that a lot of people face.
