Zahara Starlight Rose Zinnia

This is another flower that we got last week at the garden center. We always get Zinnia's and we got a couple of different varieties. I really love this one, it's one we have never had before. Very pretty. It looks like they have taken the rain out of the forecast so we are going to try to plant the flowers today. We still have to wait on the veggie garden as a new company is now here laying huge pipe down the middle of the alley and my veggie garden borders that alley. I learned something new yesterday from the workers. They are putting a fire hydrant in my yard. If my house ever catches fire it's a good thing, however now I have yet another thing to mow around in my yard.

You've gotten some of the prettiest flowers I've ever seen! Once everything is in and blooming, you'll have to take more photos :)

@fishtiger58 I will definitely be living vicariously through your gardening this year! I'm not sure if our apartment building will have any flowers around the yard or not, so I'll be looking to you for my flower fix! :)

I sure will be taking more photos to share here. The spring flowers are almost done now so it's time to get the summer flowers in the garden. Probably today as it's not so muddy and going to be in the 70's today.

@LovingMyBabies We spent more than we ever have this spring on flowers. My hubby was a bit shocked by it lol.

@fishtiger58 that is a shame. Is there no way you could get lawyers involved?

@gudheart Probably not, the darn thing was just put in as I'm typing this. I was just informed yesterday that they were putting a fire hydrant on my land.

True but I would have been happier if they put it in the alley and not in my back yard. I wasn't even asked, and I did think I owned this land, but apparently not.

I've now read and seen a photo of 'your' fire hydrant. It would be very hard to resist buying these pretty zinnias.

Those will look nice as a contrast near the blue floral ones you had a discussion on yesterday.

As soon as hubby wakes up and gets his breakfast I hope to go out there and get the planting done. We have to set all the flowers where we think we like them and then will get them in the ground. We do that, put flowers next to each other if the colors go together. I always love to put orange and yellow flowers together great color combination.

My tiller is broke too, my nephew is looking to fix it, I sure hope he can. If not I have to buy a new one.

My husband has planted so many trees in our yard I spend half my time mowing around them, now I have yet another thing to mow around. Someone suggested planting flowers around the hydrant I might just do that lol.

There are many varieties of them, this particular variety we haven't had before so I'm really pleased with this one.

Will that hydrant lower your insurance rates? I see others have asked the same question. Our ins. rates are sky high since our fire dept. if volunteer...and our car ins. rates are sky high because we stand a better chance of getting hit by a deer than we do by a vehicle (that might or might not be insured)

I sure am going to find out. I remember when we first got the house insurance they asked about fire hydrants and the fire department. So today I am going to call and find out if they will drop my insurance.

Beautiful flowers. They are popular here in NC. I may have to see if the green house near us has any as I have a few places I's like to add some color. Have a blessed day
