Into the Groovy #49 - "Spin Spin Sugar"

Today, Into the Groovy remains in the United Kingdom for "Spin Spin Sugar," a 1997 single from the 1996 album Becoming X. Sneaker Pumps, considered a trip-hop group, are probably going to be remembered for their album Becoming X, and it's hit "6 Underground." "Spin Spin Sugar," however, was a bit of an international hit itself, including #21 on the UK Singles chart, and #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 (not all that impressive, but it did peak at #2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart.) "6 Underground" might be the bigger hit, but I maintain that "Spin Spin Sugar" is the better song. It's more up-tempo, and easier to dance to. Basically, it's more fun.

Now there's a blast from the 90s, that transitional period from 80s new wave to 90s grunge. Sneaker Pimps fall in that Garbage, Cranberries area.

Right you are! I've seen Garbage twice. Really good live band.

I like trip hop. Never heard of it, but I like it. Nice twist on originality.

@teamfreak16 Sounds like a good sports team. The Colorado Portisheads.

@crossbones27 - I'd say they'd be better than the Rockies, but the Rockies are actually doing pretty good so far.

Trip-hop rocks. It's not Portishead, but what is?
