Do you believe men should help around the house?

There are people that still wait on a man. I think it's great if a man is treated like an equal when it comes to sharing a home. Doing his laundry and even cooking a meal for the family. Some woman don't let men be all they can be around the house and wonder why they can't find a minute to themselves.

My husband helps around the house but not as much as i`d love to, i work he dont, i pay bills and the rent so he should do more around the house. But he cooks(sometimes)and brings out the garbage, goes to the shop. But sometimes he`d not lift a finger. There are days i come from work so tired and he will be asking what i want to cook, then i just want to burst.

I think I would ask him to do all the housework. If he's home all day, he should do it.

@RubyHawk I think so too since you guys switched roles anyway.

They surely should! Assigning roles based on gender is very unfair. Everyone is different and has different interests and abilities. If a man likes doing and is good at household chores, he surely should participate.

@sharon6345 Plus, it is also his duty to take care of the household, as long as he is a part of it. Men and women both should be aware of it.

I've always helped around the house, doing anything that needs to be done, from cooking to cleaning.

@sharon6345 Always been the same Sharon, I know many men don't fill a finger to help out around the home, shame on them.

Without being pretentious, I think I have always been a better cook than my girlfriends. Well, maybe except once. Anyways, I always help.

No, they should only provide money for the sustenance of the house. If a man helps once at the house, then he will be required everytime, women donĀ“t know how to do the things around the house.

My husband helps out a lot. He helps with cleaning, he'll make dinner some nights, and such. It's nice that he helps. I feel like it should be that way.

I do wait on my man, but he also helps with the household chores. For the most part I do the laundry, he often folds it and puts it away, we both load the dishwasher, I usually am the one to put the dishes away. We both vacuum, I am usually the one to scrub the sinks, tub and toilets, he does all of the windows. Its a nice balance here.

It should be like that. Partners not only in marriage but also with household chores. But, it also depends which country you are .

I do wait on my husband but he also waits on me. He doesn't do laundry but he feeds the dogs, unloads the dishwasher and vacuums so I am happy!! He does make the bed too!!

Yes, they should. What they have is a partner and not a maid, so chores should be equally shared.

Yes men should help around the house. Some may not prefer to do so. They can afford to chip in.

I believe a man should help around the house. Granted I'm a stay at home mom and yeah I could probably get everything done myself if I don't play with the kids and do stuff with them. But I prefer to spend what little time I can when they are this small and have my husband help me clean and stuff around the house when get home. Both of our jobs are just as tiring and we get twice as much done quicker when we both do it together. We take turns washing the dishes, I always clean the clothes not because my husband doesn't know to because I know he knows how to I just enjoy doing it and get it done. We take turns cooking and cleaning up dinner so things some how work out to being pretty even in the house work.

@sharon6345 Sure does! And if everyone takes responsibility, it sure helps if any or all of those people has to live alone one day. They have no problems caring for themselves. :)

Sounds like I'm in the minority here, but my husband and I have a very good arrangement that works for us. I take care of the inside and he takes care of the outside. And we've been doing it this way for 50 years!

Yes, men should help with the house chores. I am lucky my hubby helps me with those chores. I hate cleaning the window and so he mostly clean our glass windows. When I am at work, he shops and cook for our dinner.

There are some days when I make my husband do more of the housework than I do because I just physically can't do it... luckily he's a good sport when it comes to that sort of thing and doesn't mind doing laundry or cooking. We've been making the kids pick up their messes in the living room, too, which helps a lot with keeping the clutter manageable. If only he felt the same way about doing dishes, though... that's one of my least favorite things to do even though we have the dishwasher.
