First Attempt: I made guacamole!!

It is possibly one of the easiest things to make but if you know me, I do not cook one bit, let alone prepare anything! You'll find us eating out or buying already made food.. and sometimes my parents cook for us too! I am quite proud of myself and it actually tasted good enough for my boyfriend and I to finish. I am not getting any younger so I officially am going to *try* and *make an effort* instead of buying everything. It was very inexpensive to make this good amount size bowl of guacamole! Cost breakdown: - 1 Large Hass Avocado - 99 cents - 1 Sweet Onion - .59 cents and I literally used 1/6th of the onion? Tons left! - 1 Roma Tomato - .39 cents - 1 Lime - .39 cents and I have 5 wedges left, used 1 wedge - Glove of Garlic (Had this at home already) - Dash of salt/pepper (Had this at home already) Essentially spent $2.36 and I made this + lots of ingredients left over for other stuff, or more guacamole just need the avocados (which I do have) when I would be paying $1 for a tiny side of guacamole! I no longer need to buy guacamole if I can make it for so cheap and it's healthy for you too in moderation of course! Overall, I didn't do too bad for my first attempt.. My cutting skills aren't on point but I blame the knife I had to use lol! It wasn't all that sharp.

I had never tried guacamole before. AT a baby shower last weekend my sister served up Tostitos scoops with guacamole and then I think she topped it with bruschetta or just plain chopped tomatoes. I thought it tasted so bland. I won't be eating guacamole again.

I agree! It's so inexpensive and before I would pay extra $1 for a small scoop or so! No more. And I made my own quesadilla last night to go with the guacamole! That quesadilla with guac would have cost me $8 at the restaurant lol! I spent $5 for tortilla and shredded cheese lol and I can make 8 more if I want as there are 10! So much cheaper. But today I will be off to go make some smoothies that will cost a little more for organic fruits and vegetables. But still cheaper if I count it out by how much I'll be getting to make. This. Is fun! @LadyDuck
