@Hannihar Thought I would start answering your posts. I have never heard of this day before. Learned something new today.

@Hannihar haha it's alright! No I am from Australia and have never been to Israel. I haven't had the chance to visit anywhere else out of Australia yet. Thank you for explaining to me what that is. I know you and I have spoken but just a very little bit so it's nice to learn a bit more about you.

@VivaLaDani13 DANI, the post I just looked at from you I asked if you have been to Israel so ignore that part. At one point I wanted to visit Australia, but, since I came to live in Israel I stay put and do not want to visit anything but places here in the country. I want to learn as much as I can of my history here. You are welcome for explaining to you.

DANI, I am sorry I mistook you for someone else that is from Israel. Have you ever been to Israel before? Yes, the week before we have Remembrance Day for all our Jews that perished in the Holocaust and then the week after Remembrance Day for our fallen soldiers and those that suffered from terrorist attacks and then it goes from sadness to gladness by elebrating our Independence.

Hello and Welcome to mylot. It is good to have a remembrance day for all the fallen soldiers men and women alike. Is it still mandatory for women to come into the military also? I hope you enjoy the site and can't wait for you to do another discussion.

@Hannihar Thanks so much for your prompt response. I used to be online with a lady from your country and she had been in the service there and told me about it until she became sick along with her husband. Yes we should not forget those murdered in the terrorist attacks. RIP

It is mandatory for all that reach the age of going into the Army. There are those that do not go, but, most go because they feel it is an honor to be able to serve and protect us all here. The week before is our Remembrance Day to the Holocaust. You are right marcyaz, that it is good to have a Remembrance Day for our fallen and the day also includes those murdered in terrorist attacks too.

@Marcyaz You are quite welcome. Do you know if they ever recovered from their sickness? I am sure she had a lot to say. We should not forget any of our lost one. We have Remembrance Day for our Holocaust and Remembrance Day for our Fallen and also for those murdered in terrorist attacks and memorials all over the country to remind us. I go past one when I go to town from where I live. It was a bus that was blown up more than once. I try to go past it slowly on my electric scooter to show respect. We have sirens that go off for each Remembrance Day for us to show respect for those that are gone. One will go off at 11am our time today. Thank you for showing your respect for those that we have lost.

Ok, I will introduce myself. My name is Hanni and I made aliya over 29 years ago. I reinvented myself here in the country. I started my computer graphics business almost 10 years ago and recently started a small delivery service with my electric scooter. I live in Jerualem which is the capital of Israel and I love this city very much. My electric scooter is my transportation in Jerusalem. I hope that gives you some idea unless you have specific questions you would like to ask me.

@Hannihar Thank you but you've misunderstood me. I didn't mean that you should write a comment for me but a post for everyone to read. Maybe you can explain the term aliya in your introduction. I doubt that many members know it.
