Locked up in Vienna.

There's a room in the dusty attic of a house in Vienna in which a boy was locked for twelve years because he was thought to be mad. He was confined there from the day that he bit a doctor who tried to examine him the day war broke out, and his parents told his teachers and relatives that he'd fallen ill and had been rushed to a sanitorium in Italy. After some months the news was released that he had died. His mother died shortly afterwards and his father was left to shoulder the burden of maintaining the lie on his own. It was on the boy's twenty second birthday that the father, ill and dying, finally released him. For twelve years all the boy had seen through the small skylight was the sky, day after night after day. For twelve years he'd had no exercise, no fresh air or sunshine and only a meagre diet. His hair had not been cut and he had never had the chance to learn how to shave. He wore his fathers old clothes having outgrown his own and the whole sorry affair ..... but I'll not spoil the ending for you, there'll be a movie made sometime soon.

ive seen the movie called Room not long ago. The mother was kidnapped and raped. She got pregnant and raised the boy. but they were both locked up in a sound proof room the whole time by their kidnapper for how many years. they got out of course but the movie did not end there. im not gonna spoil it just in case you havent seen it yet.

I saw that movie too along with other abduction movies that happened in the US. I still can't believe that some people would do that.

@MGjhaud have you heard of Fritzl? he kidnapped his own daughter when she was 14 y/o and kept her in the basement for so many years. He was an engineer and built a tunnel like home for his daughter. He raped her and fathered several children with her. She was already in her 40's when she was released.

Is this a true story? If not it's an excellent starting point for a piece of fiction!!

@xFiacre Maybe you should market yourself as a novel starter. For a small fee you provide the opening few hundred words and the writer takes it from there.
