I always drink tap water. But my husband says that tap water is contaminated with unwanted minerals like lead. Is tap water safe enough to drink? Are there any long term health problems? Can we drink tap water or not? What do you suggest?

Where do you live? Your husband knows better than us here because we don't know where your'e from and how's the water in your place. I suggest you listen to your husband.

I hope it is okay because I've been drinking it all my life. Seriously, our town sends a report each year with test results showing what the water does and doesn't contain. It is all within acceptable levels so I keep drinking the tap water.

I had been drinking tap water from past two years and did not face any health problems till now. Sending a report on water by the town authority is a great thing. I live in Phoenix and we do not get any such reports.

I think it totally depends on where you live. Not all places is it safe. I would see if there are any local resources for you to find out, maybe contacting your city's water department and see if they can answer your questions. I know we do not have iron in our water, only flouride (?) which i don't think is bad for you.

Depends on where you live, as others have said. My dad worked for our county water department for years and swore our water was perfectly fine. I still drink it all the time and never had any problems.
