Almost Had a Heart Attack!

Oh my goodness I just about had a heart attack! I think the only thing that prevented me from having one was the mama bear defense mode. Let me explain what I mean by this. So I am sitting here on the sofa just enjoying myLot as usual. My son is next to me, but he is asleep and has been for the last half hour (first time he has been asleep by 9 in a long time thank goodness). I have been blessed with pretty good peripheral vision even when I don't have my glasses on. It was this vision that helped me to see this huge silverfish run out from under the sofa across from us and toward us. I freaked out! I jumped up on my feet (on the sofa) and yelled to my mother in law to grab me a big shoe because there is a huge bleeping silverfish coming this way. I thought it was going to crawl on this sofa and on to my son and I was just not gonna have that. Luckily, there was a blanket on the floor (first time I should thank him for throwing something on the floor) and it stopped with half its body exposed at the blanket. My mother in law sprang into action, brought her shoes in here, and looked at it. She used some curse words, I used some curse words as she saw how big this thing was. We finally decided that crushing it even with the blanket over it was the best course of action because that sucker was like 100mph fast and moving the blanket would make its escape definite. She crushed it and balled up the blanket and took it down to the laundry. Man I love my mother in law! Have you had silverfish run at you? What bug would freak you out if you saw it running at you at the speed of light?
