Time For a Nap

The sun is up, I slept five and one half hours last night. I woke up before five this morning. I think I was concerned to get everything done today. I have written an article for that other site, and that was my most pressing. Now I think I need a nap. My other important thing to get done by a deadline is to prepare a large salad for a funeral dinner. I have to have it ready by three this afternoon. I did not know the family but am slightly acquainted with the daughter-in-law and I am doing this because of that connection. After mulling things over in my mind I am choosing to do a salad with broccoli and raisins. There are several versions. I actually will add in some cauliflower for contrast. This makes a sturdy salad that can be made ahead and transported without making a mess or causing it to wilt. First, however, I really need a nap. It is just after 7:30, and I have written my article, had breakfast and coffee and I just cannot stay awake any longer. I commented some this morning and will be back this afternoon. Meanwhile, be good, and do not work too hard.

@GardenGerty you sound like me. Once my brain starts working and thinking I cannot sleep anymore and must get everything done then afterwards I can sleep.

I am sometimes a worrier. I also am trying something that was suggested to another friend to plan mentally to wake up quickly and with energy.

@GardenGerty my hubby has a pretty good method for waking up. He first sits up, then moves and sits on the edge of the bed. Then he lets his body slowly come awake for about five minutes before he really gets up.

A couple of hours and almost caught up on here, that's pretty much all I have done this morning

It is always nice when you know someone who has lost a family member to bring something such as this salad. You have done a lot of work this morning already so it is about time you took that nap had a good rest and enjoy.

Sounds like you got a lot done. Doing a lot or over doing it will create fatigue. If a nap is needed then don't hesitate to take one.

It seems we're on the same wavelength where naps and sleep are concerned. I had 5 hours sleep last night as well and ended up back for a 2 hour nap before I was on the go again.

Enjoy your nap and hope you get your battery recharged. You wake up earlier than the roosters here

That sounds a nice salad. We have to make a casserole and a sweet to take on Friday when we go away for three nights to stay with a group of friends.

I got up earlier than normal today too, 4:45-5:00 am. I see a nap in my future as well. Your salad sounds interesting. Have a blessed day
