Marathon TV Watching....Something I've only just Noticed

When you have a large buffet of Television programs which you watch once a week, certain aspects will simply not be seen. When you watch a marathon of one series, you get an insight into the writer's ID. Shonda Rimes is at the very pinnacle today. She is the Head Writer for Grey's Anatomy, its spin-off Private Practice and the political thriller series Scandal. She seemed fantastic from a distance, but 'up close?' All the characters on Grey's Anatomy are exactly the same. No matter the colour, background, they are exactly the same. Female lead characters; act educated, decent, respectable. All have sex at the first opportunity. It isn't romantic. It is always violent kissing, slamming against walls or tables, tearing off clothes... exactly the same. Whether the female is a virgin who is drunk, whether the female is a lesbian, whether she is the mother of three, the females act, talk, behave exactly the same. Male leads; all a little shy, all take whatever crap the female tosses at them, all make the second move, as the female leads. All male leads run behind the females. The females make all the decisions. Always. When one tries to find out about the Writer, Shonda Rhimes... her personal life... it is virtual blank save the three adoptions of daughters she has made over the years. Which explains a lot.

I was hooked on Grey's Anatomy when it first started, but abandoned it due to its repetitive nature of scenes and character behavior.

Exactly! It is ridiculous. Every single character... exactly the same. Gives me an insight into the writer

She carries the same idiotic paradigm into Scandal. The strong woman, the weak men, all the men hanging off every word and obeying. She doesn't live in the real world
