My First Postcard Has Arrived

Thank you to fellow MyLotter @Arthurchappell for the wonderful postcard of Shambles Square in Manchester. It is so quintessentially English in my mind. What a wonderful way to connect with other MyLotters. I want to apologize to Arthur for not writing more on my card, I should have. I certainly value his friendship here on my lot and now in the real world. Yours touched my heart and your handwriting looks fine, neater than mine I suspect. I still have a small pile of Connecticut postcards that are looking for homes around the world. If you would like to join the fun, let me know. This has turned out to be even more fun than I ever thought it could be. I know other Mylotters have join postcard sharing websites and I hope they will share their experiences.

it is not terribly expensive either it is about a $1 for the postage and 50 cents for postcards. I am enjoying it.

The easy solution to that is to write in block capitals because a postcard doe not require much written content.

I'm sending my first one out to @valmnz tomorrow. I was very happy to find postcards at last and when I went to the post office got the last of their International stamps. It would be great to have a network of myLotters connected with the world in more ways than one.

@BelleStarr Shambles dates back to the 16th century and has been designated as a listed building, so it cannot be modernised.

@Asylum I am so glad, often here things are just torn down or at least in the 1950's they were.

I didn't know Manchester had a area that looked as historic as that, I pictured it rather modern.

I like the idea of sharing postcards, it is something we should do more of. We tend to only send them as a last thought at the end of a vacation, while waiting for the bus to the airport. We should use them more, perhaps it is time to start a movement to send postcards to friends on a regular basis.

@BelleStarr Now you have spurred me to action - a goal this week is to purchase a bunch of postcards to send out to my friends. I am sure there are some good ones of Niagara Falls somewhere.
