Welcome Home!

United States
May 20, 2016 12:30pm CST
Our mini-vacation is over and although it is sad, I am happy to be home. Going away is nice, but going home is even nicer! We did what we wanted to, ate what we planned to and made a few 'food' stops along the way to pick up steak at a butcher shop we heard about and shrimp from the Shrimp Dock in Maryville, TN. They get the shrimp fresh from the coast daily. Also got my husband some crawfish, he'll be busy cooking today! We got home at 11:45 and Ruby was in the pool by 11:48 - she's a happy, but tired, girl. And I am so happy to have my internet which is way faster than the rental cabin's and my mouse.....!!!

It is always nice to get home isn't it? Glad you enjoyed it, even though Ruby missed her pool!

@Jessicalynnt The noise that drove us crazy was a raccoon trying to get into the animal poof trash cans on the porch!

It is always nice to get back to my own bed, I never sleep as well any place else.

The bed was very comfy, problem was it was a lot higher than ours (which is very high)

Shoes - Yes. I got Sketchers GoWalk3 with memory foam...feels like slippers and they are light as a feather. So many kids to pick from but I wanted slip on style. Went to the outlet mall and hit Sketchers first. If I couldn't find what I wanted I would have headed to New Balance next.

@sueznewz2 And saved $10 off list price of $65. I saw them on sale someplace for $67, so I guess I got a little deal at $55.

Glad you are home safely, and glad Ruby is happy. It is too chilly here today for a swim.

The water was 74, she was in last week and it was 70 - she's a dog, she's tough!

@AbbyGreenhill Oh yeah, I forgot, lol. Dogs are tougher when it comes to cold. She is just another member of the family to me, lol.

@cindiowens Labs were bread as duck hunting dogs, so swimming in ice cold water is nothing for them.

I'm sure Ruby is glad to be back. I love going on vacation, but coming home feels just as good.

Except - after dinner I kept waiting for the 'server' to clear and table but he never showed up!

The rental cabin has cable and for some reason e-mail and Facebook were fine but any other site I used, this one included, was so so slow and froze up many times.

I have shared a few I think! The Shrimp Dock is a seafood store. They have two locations, the one we went to is about 1 1/2 hour ride from us, so we don't go too often. They also have a little cafe where you can order fish sandwiches and seafood soup.

@AbbyGreenhill - Ms Abby - Home is indeed nice, for home is where the heart is - and the liver, and the feet, and the bellies, and the electric bills, and... Glad you had a nice vacation. Gus Kilthau

Always nice to be home when you have been away. Wish we were close enough to the ocean to get fresh seafood, I envy you. Enjoy it

We are not close to the ocean, it's 8 hours from us. We used to to go SC in summer, but I can't take that 8 hour ride thru Atlanta any longer, it's awful.

Yay welcome home! Nothing beats being in the comfort of your own home. Sounds like crawfish will be for dinner!
