Preparing for surgery

I am having hip surgery next Wednesday (the 25th) so have had tons of pre-op doctor's appointments and even a class on how to sit, stand and sleep afterwards. This is an integral part of the procedure,- the aftermath- so I have had realms of papers and notes on everything. So, if you see I've slacked off it's not really the case and I will be back later to post. Any well-wishing, prayers, good vibes and thoughts will be more than welcome- did I mention chocolate? LOL! So I may do one more post before the big day and will look for your posts to comment on as well----:)

I never knew that there were special ways to sit, stand and sleep afterwards, but it makes sense since they want everything to heal properly. I hope that you have an easy go of it and that you heal well. Sorry I can't do the chocolate thing!

Oh yes- it's such a big after-recovery deal- You have to keep that side in a protective position for a few months- It must be hard to sleep at night- hope not!

@MarymargII Good luck for your surgery, do not stress too much about it, a friend of my Mom had this surgery a few months ago and she recovered really fast.

Wishing you all the best for the recovery. You have all the right information, so you know exactly what to do after. You will need patience to go through it and chocolates might help you to give you some moral comfort! Will be thinking of you on the 25th of May.

@MarymargII It would be a pain-free after the surgery. Is it a total hip athroplasty?

I'm getting nervous and can't wait till it's over- but it will be great to be able to walk properly at least- till the other one gets bad. I appreciate the encouragement!
