The Cold Makes Me Lazy

I have been gaining a lot of pounds this days as the winter season starts kicking in. I tried to jog but it's cold and rainy outside. To make it worst the cold weather makes me sleepy and hungry. It prevents me from sweating too. Do you guys have a similar reaction to cold weather? I need to push myself to exercise even when it's just tempting to sleep.

I tend not to want to do much when it's cold. Even less when it's freezing. I don't like it when it's cold. I don't do well in the cold. Not with the weather we'll have in the winter.

Well I'm thankful though that it doesn't snow here in Perth during winter. I suppose the snowing countries will feel a lot worse than me.

@flapiz it does get pretty cold. I haven't been to Australia but I imagine our winters are a lot colder here in Canada.

@dodo19 Yours is definitely colder. Cause you go on negative temperatures over there. I hope you have a winter cuddle buddy. I don't

I hate going outside in the hot summer heat. I would suggest walking in place in your living room. You can also find exercises on YouTube.

Walking in place is not too appealing to me as I'm a running type of gal. But YouTube videos of Zumba is a good way to go. Thanks

@flapiz I had no idea that personal trainers put entire work outs on YouTube. I like the kettle bell work outs.

@Kboy26 In my gym they have a weekly contest where we could follow a workout routine online so that's a good source for me. And yes there are plenty of full workouts in YouTube.

It's the opposite for me. I don't like moving when it's too hot.

You're probably the second person I've heard that say that. And that's actually quite rare. So you're a winter person?

@flapiz How can I be a winter person when there's no winter in the country where you came from?

Same here. I'm feeling like a bear and starting to look like one with all the weight gain and the laziness to shave my legs.

Yes when it is snowy and cold out, I too can put on weight just because I am indoors so much.

Even I experience similar lethargy towards any kind of movement or activity in the winter.. But I just get up do the stuff I should do anyway.. I guess its always a starting problem. Once I'm up and ready to go, I barely experience any kind of laziness. Its best to JUST DO IT!! :D

True that's what I did today dragged myself out of bed to catch up with friends and went to the gym for an hour. Luckily the gym isn't cold so I was okay. I hope I can maintain dragging myself everyday.

@flapiz True.. Consistency is the issue.. You'll get around to it!!

Is it winter there now? It has a similar effect on me. I try to go to the gym a few times a week to offset it though. Best of luck

I wish I was there. I love spring time. It's my favourite season. Summer is not too bad too. Winter is just intolerable. I'm sick from time to time.
