Have You Heard This One? Sadly It's Not A Joke.

Did you hear the one about the Marxist, the Socialist, and the Fascist who were running for President? The Marxist kept hoping no one would remember her quotations of Karl Marx and her desire for an all powerful central government. The Fascist's followers didn't think he was a Fascist, mostly because most of them had no idea what Fascism really was and wouldn't recognize it if it were gift wrapped and presented to them with instructions. . The Socialist was an old man with lots of young followers who followed him because he promised to strip the wealth from the rich and give it to them whether they'd done anything to earn it or not. No, this isn't the start of a bad political thriller. This is the state of the American Presidential Race today. To read more about the second guy, read this article.
Instead of an expression of liberty, the Trump phenomenon is a threat to it.

There is a Nazi Party here in the US. I don't know if they will have a candidate on the ballot this year but they have in the past.

You are right. My students are even asking me if I've ever seen an election with such terrible choices.

never stop praying...I think it's only the media that just likes to scare people and they actually feed on our fear. I hope your country makes the right decision.

I hope we do make the right decision, the problem is we have so little to choose from.

It worries me a great deal how this election will turn out. I'm afraid that whether the Democrats or Republicans win, American will lose.

And that does not even take the also rans into account. This is the reality we must live and dreams of an acceptable person to both sides is a pipe dream.

Where are the Harry Trumans and Ronald Reagans when we need them? Who was it that said a democracy rarely falls to an outside foe, it destroys itself from within through sloth and immorality?

We can easily recognize the Fascist, since he dominates the media today. I don't find that Hillary fits any of these oversimplified definitions though, and is our only hope for avoiding the Fascist.
