There are a wide variety of options available as a mystery shopper. I do this from time to time. I used to work for a company that paid pretty well for these shops, but now, I usually just take assignments as they come up. A mystery shopper forum can be a good resource for jobs.

I think there are a few people on here who do this. It sounds fun.

I would be hesitant about something like that...Check MSPA I think it is for legit companies.

It can be fun. Sometimes the restaurant ones are good as you get free food, I mean you pay for it first but are reimbursed.

depends on the job and the employer...you usually just fill out a questionaire about your experience.

I do several mystery shops each week. Yesterday I did 7. I enjoy it; there is such a variety of different jobs to do.

7??? No way! How did you manage that? Were they like field agent jobs from your smartphone?

@snowy22315 No, I took them off the job boards of the mystery shopping companies. 5 were the same job in 5 different locations from one company. The other two were from two other mystery shopping companies. I used the list on and signed up for pretty much every company on that list.

It is going into a location pretending to be a customer. Once you have done that...you write a report and submit to the company who has hired you and wait to reimbursed.
