A Very Short Marriage!

There has been a story circulating around the internet about the guy in Saudi Arabia who wanted a divorce from his new bride right after the wedding on the wedding night! What happened was , after the wedding and wedding reception, the "happy" couple went to a nice hotel to have a nice wedding night. As the groom started wanting to consummate the marriage, the bride was busy with her cell phone/lap top answering congratulatory messages from family and friends and wouldn't stop when the groom told her to stop. This led to an argument. And when the groom said, "who is more important, me or your friends", the bride said "her friends". This led the groom to leave and file for divorce without consummating the marriage. When he was asked by the divorce lawyers, "are you sure, don't you want to go make up"? He said, "no". He had been so offended he didn't want to reconcile. Can you believe that?

Yes, I agree, it is obvious the wife was only concerned with herself.

@LeaPea2417 I think the new bride was an idiot and probably wanted to have the title of wife and get all the presents and have a fancy receptions. She was not in love with the guy.

It seems like he would of noticed she was like that before. But sometimes I guess you find out things after too.

Yes I can believe that because in that moment he should have been more important. everyone who she was emailing could have waited till she returned home. People have lost thier minds when it comes to technology. She knows now though.

Yes, technology is good but some people are obsessed with it to the point (almost like they worship it).

That' s so shallow... Why marry when anger, pride, selfishness are more important to you, Marriage is built with love , trust , respect and understanding.

He just made the best decision of his life. I for one only use my phone as an alarm clock. If I'll be married one day to such type of person, I'll also immediately end the marriage.

I was thinking maybe he could have been a little more patient. Maybe he could have helped answer the messages. But not knowing the details, maybe she was the one being thoughtless.

I think that marriage can be annulled since it didn't even last a day.

He wouldn't have left her if she stated that he was more important. Of course, he would leave her if she replied her friends.

A selfish person should not even think about getting married. If she loves only herself she will never make anyone else happy and that will never lead to a good relationship. I am very surprised though that he only realized this on their wedding night.

See what I mean about cell phones @LeaPea2417 ? My greatest peeve. That was absolutely rude on her part. I don't blame the guy one bit. I hope he's not stuck with Alimony; she doesn't deserve a penny.

I can but I am one who can't stand the instant gratification of cell phones and their over use. I would have filed for divorce too. Good for him.
