Our payday is usually on 25th every month,so on 24th at midnight the money is in the account. If 25th falls on a Sunday then they pay on 23rd.The good thing? i still had $500 from last month in my account because l did not shop a lot this month. when is payday at your place?

We don't work now and I'm not sure when our pension goes into the bank as we have some super funds too.

When I was still working, payday was twice a month - on the 10th and 25th.

That`s every 15 days.We only have one payday here and it`s good like that, get the money, pay the bills and see what`s remaining.

@sunrisefan Weekly basis is even worse if you don't have a very good paying job as you will struggle to save for rent which always eats up most of peoples salaries.

@miniam Well, different places have different ways of doing it. People are comfortable having a payday only once a month in your country while in ours, people also are comfortable with the twice-a-month payday. Would you believe some are even paid on a weekly basis?

My husband and I are paid 26 times a year, for me it's every other Thursday, and my husbands is every other Friday. We both get paid in the same week, so next week i will get paid on Thursday and he will get paid the next day on Friday. I have been paid weekly before and so has he and we both hated it. On the other hand being paid monthly would make the months seem very long and I could see being short to buy things towards the end of the month that we ran out of and not have enough money. I like the arrangement the way it is. The job that I currently had when I was waiting to get hired on permanently they made me go through a temp agency and they paid daily, that was a nightmare. After a few weeks I requested to be paid on Fridays'.

@miniam, the temp company is a national company here, but they work a lot with people under the poverty level. The company that I work for uses them to find permanent people. They offer the daily and at the time I didn't know you could choose the weekly. It was almost impossible to pay bills with it.

@beaniefanatic13 Then the temporary company is doing a great job because once you fall under the poverty line, it`s like everything is against you, even finding a job seem impossible, and if they work mostly with people below poverty line, then maybe daily pay is welcome because if you are poor, sometimes you dont know where your next meal will come from.

Daily? they must be joking, that`s to me a simple trick for you not be able to pay your bills. You`re right, waiting for end of the month can be tough at times, but since it`s all i know, l just have to be organized so as not to run out of anything before end of the month.

The payday here in our country is every 15th and 30th of the month. By the way, congratulations for getting your salary. While we were having our lunch my family and I talked about my Chinese bestfriend and my boyfriend. They are very economical people and for sure they have been saving a lot because they do not spend much.

@miniam It is miserable being old and poor. I understand what you mean and I agree with you. I also do not like being that way so I am trying to learn more skills so I can do different kind of jobs that will give me chance to earn and save more.

I don't get paid for being retired - oh yes I do - Social Security pays me. When I worked I got paid every other week. Our social security money goes in the bank account at two different times of the month mine early, his later in the month.

My pay day is every week which is nice but bad at the same time. I always seem to have money at my disposal and it makes it so much easier to spend on crap I dont need or just spend to spend

@Castlerock34 I know, im saving very hard and it`s not easy when the salary l have is below national minimum wage and what im saving for cost thousands. But with determination and accepting you always cant have treats, you`ll make it.
