Day 67 Psalm 67 Psalm 67:1 < God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. 2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. 3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. How does one receive God’s mercy, blessing, or his attention? Isn’t it when we praise God? When we give our all, not because we need to, but because we want to, when we accept him as our God and look to him for all our needs, when we accept his Son, Jesus, as our Savior and Lord, then God’s hand will be on our lives. We will know his mercy, grace, forgiveness, blessing, bounty, and his unending and unconditional love for us. Everyone wants things in their lives to go perfect, without error. Nobody wants to go through crises. Yet it is in those times when our faith is tested that we see God’s hand on our lives. It is in the trials we find strength to carry on, and it is in the trial we see God. The psalmist was able to sing praise to God despite his situation because he had been through the trials, he had seen affliction, drought, famine, exile. Yet instead of decrying his situation and sitting in the dust of misery, he chose to sing praise to God. He said that when he praised God the earth would hear it, and God would bless and bring increase instead of famine, and everyone who saw the blessing of God on his life would fear or respect God. If you are going through any kind of trial, now is the time to praise him. Now is the time to put your faith and trust in God and he will bring you through abundantly. Everyone will see God’s hand of mercy and blessing on your life and will want the same blessing. However, it only comes through faith and trust in God. When you give your life to God, accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord, your journey into God’s abundant blessing on your life begins. Let’s pray: Father, help me praise you in bad times as well as good so I might know your infinite blessing on my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I do accept and love my God which is Jesus to me. but alas many times it takes a lot of prayer for just one thing to go right and I can be happy over something. only thing is I don't believe we have to "fear" him. why? Jesus is love. why fear his love?

@bunnybon7 I used to feel the same way until I learned that fear in the Bible is translated respect and we are to respect him.

@Drosophila When you see fear regarding God in the Bible substitute respect - Respect God. That's the translation for fear in Hebrew. It doesn't mean we are to be afraid of God. That's why I used fear or respect of God at the end of one of the paragraphs above.

Thank you. I had a good day yesterday, just not on the computer. It was too humid for the computer yesterday. Today is going very well.
