Doesn't every office need a punching bag?

I swear, I think our office needs a punching bag. I could have used it today, as I saw red three or four times, and I have a feeling The Dumb won't end with the setting sun. No, I have a feeling The Dumb will roll over onto tomorrow and into this weekend to ruin the rest of the work week. Havens I will be glad for the weekend to hit! There was so much today that could have been prevented with 1. clear communications. 2. polite tones. 3. Following procedure (IE you need to move a job, you let the person who is watching that area KNOW you are doing it. so they dont undo what you did or whatever. They are after all, the one responsible for it. 4. Not being a bumface. Yeah, I said it. Tomorrow my goal is to keep my head down, and not draw attention to myself. But I wouldn't be surprised if HR wasn't called in before this is all over. And if I get rolled up on the rug for missing something ten chains back in an email, when there has been fourteen gillion revisions to policy since then, and that snippet in that email was not in any of the recent revisions, you had best believe HR will get involved. Rawr.

I propose an office cat or an office labrador. Something that will let you pet it and rub its belly when the colleagues get TOO annoying.

I have had days when I just wanted to leave a client's house and drive far far away. No problem. They can be quite rude sometimes. So, I breathe. Go outside and empty the trash. Take several deep breaths. Turn my face to the sun. Or if it is raining, turn my face to the rain. Breathe.

When I read things like this I am so glad I am not in the work force. Cheer up, it can get worse and probably will before it gets better.

luckily your bumface never got flagged - ha ha ha ha - but its brilliant and apt, keep that head down . . . fly under the radar and let us know what transpired . . be brave

I read of companies in Japan that have punch-bag rooms - if employees get angry they can go to the room and punch a bag with pictures of their bosses pinned to it to get their anger out of their system - great idea

I do think that a punching bag would be good over there.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully it will get sorted. Not sure a hug is much help but here's one anyway.
