Cancer is rampant nowadays and many of us knew where we get such dreaded disease. Just to reiterate, we get this disease from: drinking tea in a plastic cup; eating anything hot in a plastic bags; heating our food in microwaves using plastic materials. When plastic is in contact with heat, it produces chemicals that may cause 52 types of cancer. So, we should avoid using plastic especially in our food. Any thoughts?

Yep. Plastics contributes on that but the main factors now are the chemicals used in producing our food. For example the pesticides that the farmers using on their crops and feeds that they let the livestock eat.

That's another cause of cancer. That's why many of us use and prepare organic food. Thanks for sharing your additional thoughts in my discussion.

Many are using plastic containers because it is handy and easy to carry too. How about if we use plastic containers to store food in the freezer?

That's still unhealthy for I read that it's almost the same. Food with plastic being heated or being frozen will produces chemicals.

Yes, better avoid plasric as much as we can.. BUT, if we eat broccoli and other Cruciferous vegetables, we can be protected from health problems to some extent.. Dr Mercola wrote about this, so Why not do a search and find out more..

Agree with you. It seems though that most of what we use is carcinogenic. If it isn't one type of cancer, it is another. Prevention is better than cure but pharmaceutical companies earn more in treatments rather than prevention so we are left with that.

We no longer use plastic containers for any food and refuse to buy things in plastic, such as the olive oil we like. It has to be in glass or they can keep it.

And cancer should be less but it seems I hear more and more about it. What a shame. I always use glass in the microwave. I have also heard not to leave pop and tea in plastic bottles in your car when it's hot, it does the same thing you are talking about.
