Subjecting Myself to a Torture Device

United States
May 28, 2016 10:39am CST
I took the bull by the horns and stepped on the scale this morning.....OUCH!!!! I had to dig out my summer clothes and a few things are a bit tight that fit perfectly last summer. So, I can't say that it came as a big surprise that the scale went upward instead of downwards. Guess all my inactivity and elastic waist pants from the winter caught up with me. Now it's time to take action and get the scale moving downward again. That talking metal device certainly is no friend of mine today

I know what you mean. I just went through my pants and shirts and for some reason something caused them to shrink.

That is why I don't even own a scale in my house! Lol. If I feel and look good to myself in the mirror that's what matters to me.

@Marilynda1225 I understand that. I hate those scales-they like to make people feel bad!

I don't weigh myself often but since my clothes didn't fit comfortably I figured I'd step on the scale and see what damage I caused myself....ugh

lol Mine is no friend either though I have lost 2 pounds this month with the increased activity. I am feeling quite positive about myself at the moment, must be endorphins !!

I know what you mean, I have some of those clothes that "shrank" last winter while they waited for me in the cedar chest.

@Marilynda1225 I have narrowed it down to either the Sunlight liquid laundry soap or the bounce dry sheets, have you researched it at your end too?

I need to get moving and make the scale go down again, too. The last time I got on the scale I was not pleased with what I saw...

I'm sure I'm not alone. Guess I was more indulgent over the long cold winter months than I realized

I used to be addicted to weighing myself and then would get so discouraged when I didn't see the progress I expected. Now I rarely weigh myself and try to be happy with the person I am rather than number. Today was an exception and it put me in a funk

I hear you, I think I gained a few and need to get moving again. Of course it didn't help that since February I wasn't allowed my normal activities because I was diagnosed with planters fasciitis and only last week was told I can play tennis with my son only if I iced my foot before and after. Of course then my son sprained his wrist, so I have been doing a little dancing, but not enough to get rid of some pounds.

i started using my scales again a few months ago. (ouch!) and iv'e been trying to be good , only stepping upon them once a week, but man, this week i gained 4 pounds!!!!!! it was PMS week and i know that played a huge role. so i am HOPING it's not a real 4... hoping once it all settles back down that at least a pound or two will drop back off. i hate that torture device!

I lost 13 since February yet my clothes fit almost the same. I told my daughter as I lose in an area of my body, my fat shifts down filling in the void.
