Not cute. Not beautiful. Exquisite. Something precious. You do not want to let go of this scrap of hand made lace, that penned line. What exquisite bit of life entered for you lately? I just captured green strawberries in a photo. The berries in shadowed light, snuggled under roses and apple mint leaves. Exquisite. And you? What?

When Mom was alive, she used to crochet delicate things with thread. I was going through some things after my recent move and I found an exquisite table "doily" that she had made. It was a doily on her large table and it's more of a table runner on my little table. When my nephew was here the other day for the birthday remembrance of my husband, he was so excited to see Mom's handiwork on the table. It brought back great memories for him. And I love seeing it there. Feels like she's here with me.

@CRK109 That's heart. Thank you for the gift of this answer. I'm glad your Mom's beauty reached down through the generations. You brought tears to my eyes..

@sallypup I went through so much of my life wanting "stuff" and taking relationships for granted. And now, everyone closest to me has been called home to heaven. So now I have gathered everyone's "stuff" and I keep them close to me. Ironic, right?

@CRK109 Not ironic. I think my best stories are best cause they have a shred of what I miss most. All the need is in those short tales. The house, the farm, the what could have been. All erased except when burped up in a tale.

I was going through some of my mom's things and I found two handkerchiefs with crocheted lace edges, they are exquisite, I think my aunt Pauline may have made them.

@BelleStarr Lovely. Imagine the quiet times she had crafting those. The love. True heritage and treasure.

I think I could call one of my favorite artist's scratchboard work exquisite. He's on Deviantart and does the most beautiful stuff. Here's a sample. It looks like a photograph!
Day 123 of my 2016-a drawing every day resolution. 9" x 12" ampersand scratchboard scratched with fiber glass brushes and surgical scalpel in about 3 hours. I had started this as part of a scratchb...
