Have You Tried Sauerkraut Sandwich?

This sandwich was my brunch the other day. I made it from the baguette bread that I have baked. As the baguette was too long for me to eat, so I cut it half and made the other half for my hubby. I spread the inner part of baguette with cheese spread, added ham slices and topped it with drained Sauerkraut salad before covering that baguette with the top slice of that bread. It was very yummy and filling for my tummy. Have you tried eating Sauerkraut sandwich? Or any sandwich with Kraut in it?

Yes, over here we like Reuben sandwiches which are sandwhiches that have corned beef, sauerkraut and a dressing with them served on a dark rye bread. Also, sauerkraut on hot dogs is something we eat quite often in the US.

Yes, I have tried sauerkraut sandwiches, most of the time with smoked sausages (wüster). In the United States the Reuben was my favorite sandwich, sauerkraut and corned beef, delicious.

@thelme55 Reuben is great and there it's made with beef instead of pork, that is a good thing.

Smoked sausage is also yummy @LadyDuck. I will try making Ruben sandwich soon. This sounds a good change for making sandwiches.

@SIMPLYD I just buy pickled cabbage in the supermarket here. I don´t make it as it needs a lot of work but maybe when I am there in Pinas for many months I will make my own Sauerkraut if I am craving for it. I have to watch the you tube video of this German Sauerkraut recipe. Where in the Phil. are you living? Maybe we can make this together.

I don't make the Sauerkraut @hereandthere. I buy it in the supermarket. 5 baguettes will fit in my oven. Well it depends how long they are.

We bought a tin of sauerkraut many years ago but didn't enjoy it at all. It's probably time we tried it again as your baguette sounds nice.

The Sauerkraut I used in this sandwich is pickled @JudyEv. It´s a cabbage salad. Maybe the one you bought was cooked and preserved which we mostly eat with boiled potatoes and meat here in Germany. It is also good.
