Never Ending Car Alarm

United States

I am not a fan of repetitive noises. Like when something is beeping over and over and over and over again. It makes me crazy. The alarm on my neighbor's car has been going off all night. The honking noise would start up, it would honk repeatedly for a minute or two, and then stop. Then a few minutes later, it would do it again. All. Night. Long. I'm not sure if it's glitching out or something but I nearly went insane last night. It's now two in the afternoon and it's still doing it. During those breaks in between when the alarm isn't going off, I can still hear it echoing in my head. Is there not a why to disable those alarms? Ugh...

Don't they hear it or are they not home? I would make sure to make of point of telling them.

@missjessicadawn See, I only have two neighbors so if there was such a noise I would know...but when I lived in the city I would not be able to know either.

@AbbyGreenhill My area isn't too crowded, I just live in an apartment complex with about 11 other people. I recognize only 4 of the cars.. The good news is that I haven't heard the alarm go off in about half an hr now! Maybe it's finally over! :-)

When my husband was driving wrecker and went out on calls for AAA, they had a car alarm that had malfunctioned. Nothing that any of the wrecker drivers could do about it.

@missjessicadawn they are annoying as all get up. When we have an event in this small town people park their cars on the side streets. On one particular side street you'll hear the alarms going off on several cars. One car's alarm goes off and triggers several.

I'm guessing this one was malfunctioning, as well... It finally stopped though so that's good! :-)

That and house alarms. What's the point if no one responds? Over here in the UK, you can report them because they should stop and not continue on for hours. I forget what the rule is but there is one.

Your neighbor is quite irresponsible, insensitive of the people around them. They should had fixed it specially when it went off during that night!

That's what I thought! Maybe they didn't know how to fix it or something...

That is exactly the type of situation I referring to in my post about car alarms.
