Ciara doesn't even care

Had to take Ciara to the vet yesterday because due to the new stupid laws, the vet has to see her each time she has an ear infection whereas before the vet, knowing how prone she is, would just allow me to pick it up. So we went and inside was this black cat, (the office cat) and Ciara sniffed the cat once, and then moved on to sniffing the rest of the waiting room. Then, as we were leaving, I saw the cat in the parking lot and thought I would take a video that shows me touching the cat (I think if it was Penny, she would have gotten jealous) but as you can see, Ciara didn't even care and was busy checking out more scents in the area. Now to find out how Penny would react, just in case we find ourselves in a situation where a cat needs a home. I know Ciara would be okay. I know many dogs get along with cats, but I thought it was because they had to live with them, unlike my girls who have not been around cats.

Here it is well known that a cat and a dog are like natural enemy and never get along well .

@Carmelanirel2 That is strange! Perhaps it is because they two grew up together .

I tihnk it depends on the dog and cat. Like my neighbor who had DiOgi, she got along really well with their cat, but they also grew up together.

@changjiangzhibin89 Or perhaps it is their personalities. Ciara's personality is similar to DiOgi's

not all pups get 'long with cats 'n the reverse's true's well. e'en when introduced when they're young. i'm sure that ms. ciara was much too concerned with all the other "visitors" that'd been to the clinic to e'en notice there was a cute kitty rollin' round, lol.

I am still curious on what Penny would do because she is so needy, I wonder if her reaction would be different, especially if I were to touch the cat.

@crazyhorseladycx I am guessing Penny would go after the cat, but I would grab her scruff before it got ugly and make her ignore the cat by paying attention to her, unlike her sister who really didn't care one way or the other. lol

@Carmelanirel2 one ne'er knows, hon. the pup here (our pup, my near constant companion - the red pup out back will kill 'em, the neighbors pup barks'n chases...) takes care'f the cat. let's me know when she wants indoors e'en, lol. she'd a beautiful calico friend she was most fond'f, broke her heart when she was killed :( she chases the other cats that show'p. i wonder't times if'n such's cause she doesn't wish to lose 'nother feline friend. 'r, i could jest be o'erthinkin' the situation entirely.

Sometimes we have a lot more laws than we need. I would've thought the vet's experience would have been good enough. At any rate, I don't know much about dogs and cats in the same household. Never had both at the same time before.

I know. both my girls have gone to him since they were puppies and he knows that Ciara is prone to infections. I am glad we caught it early (we suspected it last Thursday when I got her groomed) and that she wasn't in much pain yet,

She is so laid back, but I still wondered how she would react to a cat. I know when she meets another dog, she will sniff (and is sniffed) then afterwards she ignores that dog.
