Been looking for postcards Friday and today, I'm surprised that it is now so difficult to find a proper postcard, the ones tourists used to send. I used to love receiving postcards,l don't even know when they stopped. While looking for a postcard, l went to 8 different places where l was sure l will find, nothing. In the end, l had to settle for some old rejected ones the first place l found. Did l miss something, are iPhones pushing away postcards?

Postcards are definitely becoming far more difficult to find. This took me by surprise when I first offered to send a few, although it is really inevitable with email and social networking being so commonplace.

@miniam This is because we have not looked for some time, but as soon as we begin to look we realise how scarce they are. On Saturday I visited a local rural town, so while walking through the market I asked about postcards. The answer was "Yes" but the whole choice was just 3 different postcards.

I haven't looked for postcards in years but they used to be very easy to find them. I used to collect them for years at the places I visited.

Yes unfortunately because of the modern technology we will be missing out on those old ways of greetings..

I've been able to find them easily in my town. You'd think that tourists visiting Switzerland would still send them.

Whoa! Thats crazy i still send post cards to friends and family on every trip I go. I usually go to a tourist or souvineer shop to find them. Even some gas stations here have them which is nice. But it depends on if you are in a touristy neighborhood or not. I love post cards.

I ended up finding them at two gift shops, museums are usually good places to find them or any type of a tourist destination

I can only find postcards going to those little tourist villages around the Lake, like Gandria or Morcote. It's impossible to find postcards even in Lugano now.

I guess people now prefer to take pictures and send them right away than waiting for slow mail.

Many mylotters are sharing beautiful postcards. I don't know why you can't find any. I know Cologne had them, and Bern isn't too far away.
