How Well Do You Know Your Family ?

Weddings, Christenings, Barmitzvahs funerals etc are all occasions when you see your family…….in times of celebration and loss……But outside of these times how close are you to your family ? (I don’t mean geographically……but you probably knew I meant that and so I’ve just wasted a few keypad typos!) I consider myself fortunate that my family are all pretty close. Brothers. Sisters, Aunts , Uncles, Nieces and Nephews all live in relative close proximity and we often speak. There are others that I only see on the occasions above (1) How close to your family are you ?... (2) How often do you see/or have contact with your siblings ? (2a) How many do you have and what are they ?...I have one of each ,both older. (3) Are any of you estranged from your immediate family ? ie Parents ?….children ?.....if you are and don’t mind sharing the situation then I thank you in advance. We choose our friends but not our family. I know many people who are closer to their friends than to their own family for a whole bunch of reasons that I fully understand. (4) Are you satisfied with the the level of family attachment you have ? The reason I ask ? I’m just curious as to how relevant extended family are to our lives in general ,today in the 21st century. (5) What is your opinion ?
