I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still around the site. I know I have not been on much lately, but do not give up on me. I will be here as often as I can. This week I am rushing around trying to get my house cleaned up and ready to have my aunt 81st birthday party this coming Friday night. Her birthday is Monday though, and I will probably take her shopping and get her out on that day. I have a house to clean, snacks to purchase and gifts to wrap for her. I am trying to do it as a surprise for her and have a few guest to attend. She will think she is only coming to visit at my home, and then have the guest come in and surprise her. She loves to have a get-together, and parties and such. She was sad on Memorial day because she is used to grilling out with her late husband and friends. I worked in the yard that day, and just have a day to catch up around the house. She uses to stay active with parties, eating out and just hanging out with her deaf friends. She misses her deaf friends as well as her late husband so much. I realize it is hard on her to make a move a couple of hours away from her home and try to make new friends. I am trying to help her make the best out of a bad situation. What have you all been up to lately?

What a lovely thing to do for your aunt. I am sure she appreciates all the things you are doing for her.

I do try hard. It didn't work out as smoothly as I had hopped though. I had invited some elderly friend to hers party, and everyone of them was sick and not able to attend. Now, that is what happens when you are dealing with elderly. I think she still had a good time at my house, celebrating only with my parents, sister and brother. It was my home, so my husband and I was also there.

@JudyEv My aunt has lost a lot of her friends already. It is amazing that your mother lived to be a 104. How awesome is that. I had a neighbor once that I loved so much that passed away two months before her 100th birthday.

@slund2041 What a shame her friends couldn't attend. My Mum lived to 104 so had almost no friends left at the finish.

I haven't given up on you, and it's good to see a post from you. I hope the celebrations go well, and that your aunt will enjoy herself.

I tried to make it a good birthday for her. However, all the ones that I invited got sick. It was only my parents and my sister and brother.

@slund2041 Oh I'm so sorry, that's a bit sad. I'm sure she appreciated your efforts though.

@jaboUK I think she had a good time regardless, but it would have been extra special for her had it worked out.
