On July 2, 2013 there was a fire in Yarnell, AZ where 19 firefighters lost their lives. Homes were evacuated and a lot of homes were burned to the ground leaving people homeless. This fire was one of the deadliest wildland blaze for firefighters in 80 years. The firefighters -- members of the Prescott Fire Department's Granite Mountain Hotshots were asked to help fight the fire. It is said they had radioed they were about to deploy their fire shelters, a sort of aluminum blanket that protects against the flames and heat -- and a measure of last resort. Now today there is another fire in Yarnell and people are being evacuated. they are calling this the Tenderfoot fire. I think these people have had enough of fires in their lifetime.

Hoping that the fire doesn't spread more and is taken care of in time. Bless those brave firefighters!

It must be horrendous to lose your home to a fire, then experience a risk of the same happening again a few years later.

@Marcyaz Even if their home is totally unaffected this time it will be a traumatic experience as they recall the previous incident.

@Asylum Just the thought of having to go through that again is enough for any one person.

Yes...enough ...It is horrible that we expect others to be doing this kind of job for us when we should make keeping water for emergencies mandatory within every floor...preventing such mishaps.

@vandana7 Where this fire took place people did try using their water hoses but it was not enough.

I would think so, but with the heat the area has been having it isn't surprising that there is another fire. I think we need to pray about it.

The Tenderfoot Fire grew to 600 acres near the town of Yarnell, not far from the scene of a blaze that killed 19 firefighters in 2013.
