Peter Woodburn reports the good news from Seattle Washington the Seattle Mariners have activated from the 15 day disabled list outfielder Leonys Martin. Martin had been sent to the 15 day disabled list with a strained hamstring injury that sidelined him since May 27, 2016. To make room for Martin on the Mariners 25 man active roster, the Mariners will send back to their AAA minor league team shortstop Luis Sardinas to their AAA minor league team the Tacoma Rainiers. Sardinas had a batting average of .190 in 25 games played for the Mariners as the backup shortstop to Ketel Marte during the 2016 baseball season. The Mariners will be hosting the Texas Rangers for a three game series to be played at Safeco Field in Seattle starting on Friday.
