Mike Berardino reported the news on Sunday the Minnesota Twins have claimed off the waiver wire former Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers right handed relief pitcher Neil Ramirez. Ramirez who pitched for the Chicago Cubs from 2014-2016 before he was designated for assignment on May 21, 2016 was claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers from the waiver wire on May 31. 2016. Ramirez was designated for assignment by the Brewers on June 8, 2016. The Twins needed his services since Phil Hughes who was on the 15 day disabled list on June 10, 2016 was transferred to the 60 day disabled list on June 12, 2016 with a fracture below his left knee which will keep him out of the relief pitching team until at least September. Ramirez will replace rookie relief pitcher J T Chargois on the Twins relief pitching team since Chargois was sent to the Twins AAA minor league team the Rochester Red Wings to improve on his skills in the minor leagues for now.

Everyone is scouring waiver wires and minors to fill roster holes.

I was shocked to now that Hughes has a serious injury to his left knee.
