Nap Time

Don't get me wrong. I'm not going for a nap. I also have been awake since 3:30 in the morning local time here in Manila. A thought just came to me, I wonder how many myLotters out there are taking a nap now. How many are contemplating to take a nap? Still how many just woke up from one? Anyway, do you take scheduled nap times? Or do you just wait until the sleepiness slowly creeps upon you and lulls you into dreamland? Back in the day, nap time for me would be 1:00 pm up to 4:00 pm. Yeah, doesn't sound like a nap... more of an extended sleep. At a previous work, employees are encouraged to take a nap after lunch break. Lights are turned off and everyone resumes work at 1:00 pm. So curious to hear what everyone's nap time schedule and rituals are? Feel free to chime in.

I got a small nap in today out of nowhere. I think it was from being bored.

Boredom does induce sleep. Hence, the many sleeping students in classrooms during a boring lecture!

@carebear29 That probably means you needed it. Sometimes a short nap can really help refresh us.

I don't have a nap time at all. Were you thinking of me when you woke up this morning? I suddenly awoke at 2am and couldn't go back to sleep until past 4am. I woke up at 7:28 again because of my student's message.

@allen0187 nice one. But if i was on you mind, I'm pretty sure there could have been more than just running to make me feel tired.

Sometimes I take a nap in the afternoons but not too often. If I haven't been sleeping well I sometimes sleep for 2 or 3 hours. Sometimes I sit and read in a recliner chair and I drop off to sleep without intending to.

I do find myself sleepy while reading. I've managed to overcome it by reading while planking. It gives me an extra form of exercise.

As long as you are getting your seven hours of sleep at night, I guess, you don't need to nap during the day.

@allen0187 I can see your point. We all are pulled from all directions between our families and jobs that a short nap would be good. I remember when I worked and some days I would be so exhausted I would take a 15 minute nap at lunch time. I use to start work at 4am and get up at 2am to leave the house at 3am. I worked an hour from work. Even though I went to bed by 8pm, I could never get to sleep for a few hours.
