To Tell The Truth

Do any of you remember this old TV show? It's been reincarnated a few times through the years, and it began again tonight. And I'm SO glad! As a child in the 50s, I remember watching this with my parents. We had so much fun trying to guess who the real person was. None of us was very good. Dad would try his best analytical talents to figure it out, and most times he was wrong. Mom went mostly on intuition, but she didn't do too well either. And, of course, as a kid, I just guessed. They would laugh like crazy when I'd get it right. I thought it was wonderful when they brought Betty White back onto the show. She used to be on the original show way back when (as she was on most game shows). She's so funny and quick. I love her to bits! If you've never seen this show, what happens is that three people claim to be someone with a specific talent or job. The celebrities ask them questions and try to figure out who's telling the truth (the other two are, obviously, lying). After their questions, the celebs pick who they think is the one telling the truth and then the real person stands up. It really is a lot of fun...well, for me, anyway! There are some game shows that I just love and this is one of them. Let me say that some of these "liars" are incredibly good! -Claudia- image from pixabay

They showed a brief clip of it on the first new show because Betty White was on one of the old episodes. It was so cool seeing that old show again!

This sounds a great show. One I like watching at the moment is 'Would I Lie to You'. One person puts forward a 'story' and the others have to ask questions and determine if he's telling the truth or not. It's a lot of fun to watch.

It's a wonderful family show and I guess that's why it brings back such great memories. Back when I was young, we always watched TV as a family and the game shows were more fun than anything else, since we tried to see who could get the right answers the most!

I'll respond anyway... I saw the old program in reruns a few years back and caught a glimpse of the newer version tonight. I like Betty but the rest of the show does not compare. The attitudes are very different.

I thought it was a lot of fun. And I'm very glad they they've made Betty a part of the new show, since she's always been the game show queen.
