Sometimes it is quite nice to be loved by the friends of your parents.
Our little ice princess received an early birthday gift. It was a ticket to the Tony Awards for last Sunday night. The Tony Award recognizes achievement in live Broadway theater each year and is considered the highest U.S. Theater honor. It is similar to the Grammy and Oscar awards, filled with the movers and shakers of the entertainment industry.
Sadly, her bedtime is at 7:30 and she couldn't attend to see her favorite play, Hamilton, take 12 Tony awards. She had to wake up at 4:00AM for ice skating practice.
Fortunately, her mom and dad attended a fundraiser where the cast of Hamilton happened to be. They remembered my daughter-in-law (She saw Hamilton three times), but more exciting, they remembered my granddaughter. She met and spoke with each cast member backstage after seeing Hamilton. They want to chat more with her. Apparently, she asked many important questions about lighting, stage direction, sound design, costume designer, Hamilton, and what the dirty words in the book and play meant. Lol! She's way too young to have her question answered. But, she has an open visit anytime and a chance to play piano with the drummer and read with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Leslie Odom Jr.
I think our little ice princess is a mover and shaker herself!

yes, i remember that post about her going backstage. she really made an impression on them with those "grown-up" questions. was she able to watch the telecast instead? why does she have to wake up that early for ice skating practice?

Thanks for remembering! No, after her birthday weekend, she was exhausted. If she was awake, she would have gone to the show. I'm not sure if her parents recorded it, but I know they watched it. She has two early skates per week before school. After school, she has more practices, coaching, lessons, and off ice practice. She also has tap dancing and piano lessons, plus religious school and play dates with her friends. Did I mention homework and bedtime reading? Lol!

@hereandthere Lol! She is the one who wants to do it. My son put his foot down when she wanted to take horseback riding lessons. There isn't enough time in the day!!!!

Yes, she definitely seems to be a mover and shaker on the ice and off.
