Continuing Battle With Migraines

At least I avoided an emergency room visit this time! I've been fighting migraines for the last two weeks basically. They've landed me in the ER three times and twice I've had to be so heavily medicated that I have no memory of the nights after being given the medication! Tonight I was able to stop the migraine before it got that bad. It took a dose of pain medication, Ultracet, and the migraine medication Imitrex - but together they got it under control. I can't help but wonder if something to do with the weather is causing the problem. Something certainly has changed because I never have migraines like this. I see my doctor on Monday morning and I hope she will have some idea to help me because I'm tired of being in pain so often. (Image from Pixabay)

My flare up could be caused by stress. I have been having a lot of worries lately and not been getting enough sleep.

Migraines are something else.Migraines seem to run in the family. They're something awful, I hope you're able to get some relief.

I've heard they run in families, but I am the only one in my family to be cursed with them that I know of.

My son has bad migraines but hasn't been able to get the prescriptions ever since becoming an adult and no longer having a medical card. Getting them only on occasion myself I really feel for you having them so often! I hope your doctor can figure it out.

when i had miigraine attacks, i was always prescribed with Cafergot, Avamigran, or Periactin syrup. now i don't know if these medicines are obsolete and outdated. my cardiologist also prescribed Propanolol.
