I hope all the Father's in your lives had wonderful Father's days. We had a busy one. I was out of town all week with my 11 year old daughter at A nationals competition. She had to compete for her birthday on Wednesday and since we were out of town, I decided to hold off on celebrating her birthday. I did take her to her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, I did not hear any complaints, so I think she was happy. We did end up celebrating her birthday on Sunday, plus it was son #3'a birthday AND Father's Day. So we had a busy cake eating day! I think it did work out for everybody, but I will not be weighing myself today! What did you do for Father's Day?

I hope the competition went well for her. Happy Birthday to your daughter and son, and Happy Father's Day to your husband and the father of your children. I don't have any father's in my life any longer. I did wish my son a Happy Father's day.

@just4him She worked really hard for it and I am so proud. She was up against the best in the US and went against 45 other girls in her age and level

My husband is the step dad and my children have never called him more than Steve and haven't really ever thought of him on Father's Day. My middle daughter always dedicates father's day to me.

@mom210 I was a single mother most of her growing up, although her dad has always been around. Recently she remembered to invite him to Zelda's birthday party. I hadn't seen him in years so that was a little awkward.

That is a good idea your middle girl does. Since my father has passed I considered doing that for my mother too.

Wow a three in one celebration.. That I guess was a lot of cake. We had a simple but lovely father day celebration at home with the boys around.

I prefer it that way, I try hard not to sombine, but sometimes our household is just so busy, it happens. Fortunately nobody minds combining so it works out okay. Have a great week

@mom210 It seems to take a lot of 'working-out' to get rid of cake unfortunately. :)

We have two that take turns falling on Fathers Day. I tried to get my 6 foot tall son to sit on Daddy's lap and tell him Happy Fathers day, he would not go for it though.kids!

Oh yes, It was a great celebration though. I have about 2 pounds left to get back to the weight before the cakes. I upped my workout and hope to see them gone at the end of next week.

Sounds as if you will be eating cake for a few days! Ours was not bad. Hubby took the kids to grandma's and spent some time down there. I stayed home and vegged out.

I love cakes , specially those with butter icing . I hope the cakes didn't raise your cholesterol above the normal level. Actually , when there are successive occasions to celebrate and spend on , we can just spend them in one time . At least everyone will be there to celebrate and lesser expenditure .

with so many in the family I do worry about combining to often, I do not want them to feel short changed. But both the kids involved are very loving and forgiving. Both say they do not mind at all & they are very close. It is behind me for another year now. I am working on the birthday this month now. Trying to work it into my schedule,

@ridingbet Wow, we lost them close to the same time, mine passed December 27, 1996. Needless to say, Christmas is bittersweet. I have a lot of small children, so I have to keep it up for them, but it always reminds me that he is gone.
