If Its Too Loud...

... you're probably too old. Unless of course, it is really loud. LOL!!! Anyway, back in the day, I'd crank up my radio when a favorite song of mine was playing. It could be Metallica's 'Seek and Destroy', Limp Bizkit's 'Break Stuff', or Wu-tang Clan's 'C.R.E.A.M.'. As long as it was something that I can sing to or rap to or something I can dance or bob my head to... it'll be something that I'll crank up much to the dismay of the neighbors. Today is a lot different though. I still listen to the same set of songs but in the privacy of my own world with my headphones. My playlist also consists now of jazz, bossa nova, and classical music as much as rock, rap, and metal. Anyway, what sort of music do you crank up my fellow myLotters? Feel free to chime in.

I will never crank up rap music. They disrespect woman far too much for me to like it. It's not playing in my house for anyone either. Go home if you need to hear that kind of music. I love most all other and love anything bob Marley made,John Holt is the man. Whitney houston did her thing and taylor swift is on the map. country music I could listen to in my sleep.

Understand your sentiments about rap music and I see your point. Bob Marley's music must be made as part of one's social and artistic awakening.

It depends on what I'm doing... When I'm writing a novel manuscript, a comic-book script, or cartoon script it'll vary... Action scenes will be writen to Disturbed, Two Steps From Hell(They're an ochestral group, as you've heard some of their stuff used in T.V. trailers), Kamelot, and ocassionally some Jazz pieces like Marcus Miller's "Panther," "Rampage," or "Blast." I'll write action seen to other bands like Haste The Day, Iron Maiden, and Judas Preist. Mellow scenes will be written to ballads done by Disturbed, Iron Maiden, or jazz music, or a softer ochestral piece.

@allen0187 My entire creative process is at times inspired by and spurred on by music. It's this weird little tick I've had since I was a toddler. Listening to certain songs that appeal to me would trigger these animated scenarios in my head. Kinda like the AMVs you'd see on Youtube. As a kid the scenarios varied depending on the song's tempo and pace. That still happens today, as I've wriien fight scenes to Disturbed "Fear," "Stupify," "The Game," and "Voices." As well as Sevendust's "Praise," and "Damage." The lyrics of a song may come into play in inspiring a scenario or plot of a story, or might become a character's "theme song." Though some "theme songs" looking back have me asking:"Why'd I pick that one?" For example, there's a nephilim(a being born of an angel and a human) character I created named "Dante," and some of his action scenes are written to Emeniem's "Soldier." There's another character I created in a comic-book series named "Mandy," and her "theme song" is Disturbed's "Perfect Insaniy," despite the fact she's her brother's more chipper and outgoing counterpart... And her brother's theme song...? "Dr. Finklestein's Song" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas:Oogie's Revenge." I don't know why, and hopefully that might change. I'm also working on a "traveling" playlist, as courtesy of youtube I've listened to several songs I've heard that I feel would be good to listen to while traveling out of town to anime and comic-book conventions. Some of these songs are from videogames...Old videogames...

It depends, if am exercising I listen to something by Avicci. (house Dj). If am chilling I listen to mix by chill nations and so on.. I don't do metal unless its classics like Nirvana.. if its just some dude yelling incoherently i'll pass. I listen to a fair bit of RAP, but only when I feel like it. I listen to Mozart when I have to write something really difficult and really have to use my brain

Yes, you are right . As we get older the volume of our music gets softer . I love hearing those local love songs that are a bit like Tsinito . I also love jazz and other songs that can make me tap along .

Not familiar with the song 'Tsinito'. Who sang it? Too bad there aren't many mainstream local jazz artists. There are good local jazz artists but they seldom get any airplay.
