My cat got a chipmunk

And he brought it to the base of the steps at the back door. At first I thought it was dead as it was just laying there but after while I saw the cat playing with it so I knew that it was still alive. I went outside and grabbed the cat. I watched the chipmunk make its way, albeit slowly, into the hostas. I hope the little guy makes it. I'm surprised that my cat caught the chipmunk. He is 13 years old and rarely pays attention to the wildlife around him. It was sweet of him to deliver his catch to me but I would have rather that he just left the thing alone.

@ronc510 no they either don't notice the birds or they are too old to catch them.

I hope the chipmunk has'nt crawled away to die. Cats can be cruel but it's just their nature.

It was perkier with every moment that passed so I hope it survives.

I've had a lot of cats over the years. they are killers and will keep killing until they die...it's just their nature. my cats have killed numerous birds and mice and the best killer killed a load of full grown rabbits. I once saw my cat kill 3 rats in less than ten seconds...amazing.

Hopefully the poor little chipmunk will survive. It is cute how cats needs to bring their catch to show their humans.

It was sweet of my 13 year old man to bring it to me. I just love him so. He has my heart.

Omg! My cat chases them everyday! He had leg surgery a few years ago, so is too slow to catch them. I wouldn't want a chipmunk delivered to me either!
