I'm sorry but I just don't feel good. Can I go home?

I had to tell my manager that tonight. I came in and broke down the truck, got about halfway done with my aisle (as well as blocked nearly half of it) and all while in pain. I tried to stick it out but it wasn't happening for me. I went to him and asked him if I could go home. I hate having to do that because I know that means more work for everyone else. Atleast I did get a lot done already so they won't have to worry about it too terribly much. I came home and put some salve on and laid down for about two hours. Finally I got up and went to get some ibuprofen. You know how you are in so much pain that you can't move but you know that you need to move to get something to help the pain? That's how I felt. I let the salve sink into my skin and tried to think about anything but the pain. Do you feel bad when you have to leave co-workers to pick up your slack?

@scribbledadnauseum I am sorry you are in so much pain. I hope the ibuprofen helps. Do you feel bad like a summer cold that you are in such pain? I hope you are feeling fine otherwise? I hope you didn't have a nasty fall or someway was injured. Hope all is well in the morning. I will send out good thoughts to you so you are feeling no pain anymore!

The ibuprofen was to get rid of the inflamation. Without going into detail, it is a feminine issue. Luckily enough for me, this sort of pain only occurs very seldom. If I could have worn a more comfy ensemble, I'd have felt better. As it were, I couldn't so went home.

@Marty1 It helps with inflamation but there might be something better out there. I'm glad you are getting your strength back but don't over do it. Maybe best to organize a list by aisle, so you don't have to take many trips back to the same aisle.

I am doing much better, thanks. It was a centralized pain that was just horrendous but I know I need to diet better.

@dodo19 The occasional pain is inevitable unfortunately. Atleast it's few and far between. I have fibrous cysts and they sometimes swell and cause pain.

I hope the ibuprofen helped and you are less in pain now. Do not worry about your coworkers, they surely understand.

Yes the pain is completely gone now. It's the worst kind though, and the clothing I was wearing did not help at all.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am glad that the pain has gone. It's horrible not to be able to lay down and remove the clothes when we are in pain.

It's more about diet approach, this kind of pain. Either way, I did rest up and feel better today.

I am sorry you have been in such pain and I hope that you feel better at some point. It is good that you went home because when you are sick you need to take care of yourself. Hopefully you can go back to work soon.

I do feel a little bad because it would affect the team's attendance which is vital. I always try to stick it out too.
