Missing the hit.

Staying safe, but some can not keep you safe.
Last Monday, i was almost hit by a SUV despite being watchful.and abiding the traffic rules.
Came out of a shop, kept myself a meter.away from the road/highway and no pedestrian lane but an enforcer was there to mandate the everything.
Coming from a family of enforcers, i always told myself to.follow every rules or laws even in crossing, know the signs, follow the signs--basic stuff. And with that accident i had more than.10 years ago, i HAVE to.
With my eyes on the enforcer's signs, i know i have to cross the street, and all.of a sudden, a black SUV suddenly run when it should be on stop.
The enforcer and i heaved a sigh. Irresponsible driver.
Should.have seen the plate number but it was just fast and so was my heart beat.
My life is worth more than a million, compared that SUV.
Oh well, have to be.more extra careful.

he will get what's coming for him someday. I've experience something similar, what's worse one time is that there was a road hole with water in and the L300 slams to hit water splashing through my face. never told any one about that but the enforcers saw it

Good thinng you weren't hit , my friend . Be very careful next time . It's always best to look on your left and right even if it's a one way lane . I always do that . I don;t care if i look foolish doing that .
And what did the traffic enforcer did with him seeing SUV violating the traffic rule ?

No matter how careful we are, it doesnt matter sometimes when others dont care as much.

This story you told made me think that relying on an enforcer is not enough. I stopped to let a pedestrian go across but then startled the person by moving ahead suddenly, then stopping again. I could see in the mirror, unseen by the pedestrian that the car behind me wanted to race by instead of letting a pedestrian cross. It is dangerous out there.

bless yer heart, so glad that'cha weren't injured. some folks, so't seems, 've lil regards fer life - theirs'r anybody elses. always'n a hurry to get no place, not worryin' 'bout their actions which might cause consequences :(

@Lucky15 it really pays to use what our parents teach us..." look to the left, look to the right, look in front, and look in your back, when you cross the streets".

Good thing you're still with us. It happens sometimes - a car out of nowhere, a cyclist that just wasn't there a second ago. It's always important to think about others all the time so that we could minimise the risk of incidents such as the one you mentioned.
Anyway, what a 'fantastic' suv driver...
