Threading A Needle

I know the young people still have a very clear vision so they can very well thread a needle . But for the older one , it has become difficult and I am one of them , as well as my husband . That’s why , I discovered this aid ( the one in the picture ) that really can help me when I am threading a needle . You just have to shoot that one’s end of the loop like thing . Then once it’s inserted , you can put the thread , then pull that loop back out of the needle’s hole . And voila ! The thread is already passed through the hole . So easy with that .

Ahhh, the threader. My mother also has that in her sewing box but she seldom uses it. Sometimes, she asks me to put the thread.

That is good that she has this also . It is of great help in sewing or darning clothes. So that one is called a threader . I was at a loss on what to call it , so i call it for myself as loop .

You know, I remember once having one of those! As for the young threading a needle, not sure they would really bother?

Yes, for the young ones , they don't need this because they can very well see the hole of the needle . This one is useful to those who have difficulty seeing the hole of a needle .

@valmnz no. they use safety pins, tape, staplers, or just buy new outfits.

I had to discover that a couple of years earlier. Its that or I carry a needle and thread around looking for a pair of younger eyes. One of the reasons why I don't embroider any more...though I keep meaning to, or is it because i'm too lazy and would rather read a book

So you have discovered it earlier than me . Me too , i sometimes seek a younger person when i am to thread a needle and there's one around like in my parents' house . But at home where my in-laws are now old there's none , because hubby can't already too . So it has to be with the aid of that .

Good for you that you have known about this already even when you were still young . I only discovered how it is used just this year when an officemate showed it to me on how to use it . I laughed out loud when she showed it to me . All the while it's in our sewing kit yet i am not noticing it at all because i don't know yet its usage .

I have plenty of those little things, they are in the package when you buy needles here in Switzerland and it has always been for what I remember. I bring them to my Mom, I can thread a needle even if I do not see well the hole.

@SIMPLYD Some sewing machines thread from front to back and others from side to side so it depends if it is possible to use it or not.

@SIMPLYD My sewing business is at a standstill now because of financial problem. I was into the t shirt and other garments sewing business until early last year when I had a misunderstanding with one of the seamstress, and that started it all. I removed all the sewing machines in that particular house and transferred them here in my garage. Now, when I go out, I try to find the seamstress but she is always out to nowhere, and she is not the one I had misunderstanding, but another one whom I call "ATE".
