I am talking about people on here that just go like your discussion and/or your response on theirs and not respond at all. you think they just go to their discussion and like every response without reading or what? this is not face book Do they get paid just for that? maybe they are having issues with mylot responses , etc. like mine when it freezes on me. not sure.

I will like something after I read it if I cannot come up with a response. I do read through some of the other responses and will like what I have read too. There are many I am finding that have only liked a post, but never, if ever, comment.

I know. it just makes me feel like I do when someone calls, I miss it but try and call back within minutes and no answer its like they call, lay the phone down and walk away, or run away

@ElusiveButterfly I think so. but if they know me they should know I don't move fast and sometimes leave it in the room

I try to always comment on posts. There are some posts that just perplex me and I cannot think of anything to say. Even then I still try to at least acknowledge that I read the post.

@vickyrose yes I don't see why they would not care to generate some bucks by commenting. since they bothered to go there even if it is just to say hey, I agree or I am not sure what you are talking about. lol

On rare occasion I will hit like on something here without commenting. That's the exception rather than the rule. I usually have a reason for not commenting but but I can't think of any examples right now.

I can't think of why I don't at times either. likely cause you don't know what to say.

Yes, if there's nothing that I could add, I normally 'like' to acknowledge that I've read and move on to topics and discussions that I'm interested in.

Some posts don't prompt any particular comment and a like is just a way to let the writer know that you passed by, read it and.......liked what they wrote.

yes I just wondered. am finding out it is good for me but they don't get anything for it. to bad. times I just say hey good going or you got that right or sorry this happened. etc. you know?

I have thankfully never had mine freeze up from responding. That would be a deterrant. I have never really noticed likes without comments. I have to read something to know if I like it and then if I have read it I like to leave a comment so people know.

its just that in my notifications I sometimes see they liked and I go to see what they responded with and answer, only to find out they did not respond. so now I pay more attention to what the notifications tell me. lol

Some people seem to think its an easy way to get you to respond. I don't bother with such. I interact with people who meaningfully interact with me.

I do get perplexed sometimes when people just like without commenting. The only time I do that is to people who've done it to me - sort of making a point.

Just liking does not carry any meaning. It should be followed by response. This is what I am thinking.

that's okay. if they don't respond they get nothing for the like. just the poster. I just learned that

@bunnybon7 : Let us tell them When I joined 2 months back I was only posting discussion. One of our colleagues has advised me to 'respond' also. I really appreciated her for the help. Let us help others in the same manner.

sometimes if you get a load of similar responses it's hard to say something original to every one so maybe that's where just the likes come from. You don't earn for anything you do here, you earn from the interaction you receive...so someone giving you a like earns for you not them.

I am doing it times to times, when I read something interesting if I have nothing to add or tell myself. I do not see anything wrong with doing it. I know that I do not earn anything but that the member receiving a like earns something. It compensates the behavior of some members which are never liking a response or a comment to their discussions, or are never liking a discussion when they respond.

You don't get paid if you Like every discussion. Only if other members come to your site and Like and Comment.

I always make sure I have a response, anything, even short or long ones depending on the topic, as a gesture of gratitude for reading my discussion post.
