Although in a way I agree it is nice to see who we are 'talking' to, personally I like to be invisible here. We all know that one should not 'judge a book by its cover' but no matter how well-intentioned we are we cannot help being influenced subconsciously by appearances and our opinion of a person can change once we find out that they are older/younger/a different gender/different ethnic background to what we thought from their writing. I like the chance to be judged by my words.
