Where do the posts disappear????

The posts that I check remind me of the luggage that arrives at airports in a conveyor belt.People stand around the bags arriving in a steady flow and then pick up their own I too pick up posts I like, to 'like' and comment. But sometimes, you get to see harassed passengers whose bags don't turn up ! Well, I seem to be missing a few interesting posts too. So how do I optimize my search technique to look at the posts which interest me? I'd be glad of your help. Also ,where do the posts go?

When i am done with my notifications , i would comment back on those who commented on my posts . After that , i will go to recent discussion or to interesting or top rated discussion to see what can spark my interest . Then , i go to recent activity so i can interact while others are online too.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'disappear' (you might want to edit your title where is the 's'?) - posts never disappear, they are always there on a person's profile unless they are deleted. Time zones have a lot to do with whether you see certain posts - if they are written when you are not on here they fall off the bottom of the lists, but they are still available to you under the explore or search buttons. I often miss posts, but hopefully as I go about the site I come across a comment/response from a friend on someone else's post, and that makes me remember to check out if they've written anything new.

@ChesneyM You devil. I avoid nobody, but I am a snail when it comes to type, and I respond only to a few posts daily.

@ChesneyM I thought at first that your new avatar was a gargoyle, but now that you are speaking of St John the Baptist I have a doubt. She responded kindly to several of my discussions today, and I want to read her discussions too.

@responsiveme I never delete posts - why would I do that? We are not limited in how many posts we can keep. You obviously can't know everybody on the site, - I have been here a lot longer than you and I am still finding new people. That's how we make new friends.

@responsiveme i'll do my best, hon. t'will warn ya though, i'm prone to jest disappearin' from the online world...sometimes jest a day'r 2, other times a month'r more. distresses some, whilst other folks've gotten used to such :) the draw from missin' the flowers'n my garden here the reason i return. ya know, coz 't seems some're incapable'f sendin' e'en an email otherwise, ahem 'tis one 'f the great thingies 'bout this place ~ folks open willin'ness to share their info 'n ideas when schtuff's puzzlin' 'r jest plain goes awry. a clue ya say? i fear i cannot. i've penned under fella's names, gals names, names myself'n past publishers thought to be completely fictitious...later to find out not . perhaps one day i'll "spill the beans", but hope nobody holds their breath fer such'n event.

As long as you keep responding...my posts remain incomplete if you don't respond.I always look out for some special names... And people have been very helpful....so you pick up your clue from the responses. Big Hugs. I keep thinking about the 'pen names'.do give me a clue on that.

I think you are referring to your Notifications, which disappear after a week or so, unless you use the X at top right of each notification to delete as you go... The posts themselves probably don't get deleted under normal circumstances, although post, response and comment chains can be deleted by the post author, or, for responses and comments, by the post author or the response or comment author. And by site admins too, if course.

@responsiveme I understand. The Explore menu offers several different ways to get to see interesting material without having to follow a gazillion people. Search is another way, I use it occasionally when hunting for a specific post that I happened upon but that was from someone I do not follow.

Thank you, I didn't notice the x near the notifications. Actually I meant I was not getting to see a lot of interesting posts. Now lots of responses have come by which I am optimizing my search strategy

I usually find new people when reading the comments left by others on my friends pages. And I've never deleted posts either. If something comes up missing it may have been deleted by either the member or Alex if he found it was breaking the rules or something similar. You've probably already gotten most of your questions answered by not though. I was scrolling through your previous posts and my eye happened upon this one for a look-see.

If I want to see posts that could interest me, I always go to Explore, the one with the flame logo.. I always check the most recent topics or new user discussions and sometimes the discussions with no responses. You can also go to Follows and choose topics that you want to give comments or responses.

As some have already told you no posts disappear unless they are deleted which rarely happens. There are tabs - follow, explore and there you will find all what you want. You can also go to profiles of users.

I use the search icon putting in the subjects I am interested in or people will suggest posts to me if you ask them to. Posts can disappear for many reasons--mainly for being against the rules!

Posts aren't supposed to disappear. Unless they're plagiarized or something. I'm not sure what's happening.

No, what I meant was I don't get to see some posts .Afterwards when people are commenting I get to see it and I wonder"Where did it go".Must be due to time zones or something? What do you think is the average number of posts in a day?

I don't know why it happens. I responded to every comment made on the post about my sick son just awhile ago,but when I looked back to find articles of those who commented, every answering comment I had made had disappeared. That is so disappointing. I spent lots of time making those comments and now they are gone.
