Last August (2015) we visited Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France. Unfortunately, it drizzled all day although it didn't spoil our visit. Monet was a master in the art form now labelled 'impressionism'. He created a wonderful garden at his residence in Giverny. The garden is extensive and at one point you walk through an underpass to get to the other side of the road that bisects his property.
There, a small river creates an ideal location for hundreds of water-lilies. You might see on the bridge a number of visitors all with their umbrellas as it drizzled all day. We had to queue for quite some time to gain entry as the gardens are much more popular than we imagined.
The garden has been kept much as it was in Monet's day. We were impressed with the dahlias as you might have guessed. I'm sorry the slideshow is so long but there was just so much to see and record. I have done a shorter video of the interior of the house.

@crazyhorseladycx I have taken barrowload upon barrowload of cow patties and horse apples to spread on my Mum's garden. They certainly do the job.

From your slide show I can certainly see why they are so popular.

@JudyEv Don't feel bad about the length. One thing I'd like to have done is for my wife or one of my musical children to put together some looping background music track for me to add to my slideshows. I might be able to do it with my harmonica as well but I am so out of practice. Besides the task intimidates me a little. I'm really not that good.

It was a shame it drizzled all the time but it was still a lovely place to visit.

Yes he did. Sometimes the slideshows are a mix of his and mine (though mostly his) but this time I couldn't find any that I took. I thought maybe I didn't have my camera with me but there is a photo of me and I have the camera so maybe the battery was flat! What a long answer!! The short answer is Yes!

It is hard to get a really nice photo of water-lilies. It was a beautiful garden wasn't it?

2:08 isn't really that long. That's about as long as your average punk song. Nice slideshow.

I have no doubt it was a very popular sight! How lovely to be at the sight where Monet stood to paint . . . you can just "see" what he was seeing. You can see it in photos of the garden, but I'm sure it's much more amazing when you are there in person!

I got lost in one of Monet's Giverny paintings at the Met in NY. I kept looking at it from various distances and wondering if I was nuts when I thought I saw it "snap into focus" at a certain distance. I wondered if Monet painted, then stepped way back, then went back to painting. Art historians probably know the answer. I never researched it. I would love to actually visit Giverny.

His garden became a tourist attraction; more so of his paintings.
