I may not have gotten to go with the kids to help them build their cars on Tuesday, but I'm sure glad their mom got to go help them. She wasn't able to go last night to the drive in movie night. This was held at the church that I went on the mission trip with. What a fun activity for the kids too! The fun of building their cars the day before, then the fun of sitting in them to watch the movie the following evening. You can see Jacob and Willo in their cars in my picture. You can see what a nice job they did on making their cars. There were 19 children in all in their cars in front of the movie screen in the fellowship hall of the church. They served hot dogs, chips, and drinks before starting the movie. Everyone got a bag of snacks to munch on during the movie. The bags contained popcorn, pretzels, honey nut oat cereal, m&m's, and marshmallows. The movie we watched was Zootopia. It was a cute movie with a good story line of how everyone can get along.

When I was growing up we had 2 drive in movie theaters. They are long gone now. There is still a drive in (at least I think so) about an hour from us. They are few and far between for sure, which is sad.

@marsha32 I see them a lot in American movies - one is used in a great Boris Karloff movie called Targets about a rooftop sniper attacking a drive in where Karloff is premiering his latest gothic horror movie - the film plays neatly on the balaance of campy movie horror and real social horror - highly under-rated movie

What a neat thing to do for the children. I can see they really enjoyed watching the movie from their own cars.

I thought it was a really fun idea. This church is a lot larger than ours so they have more resources to do things such as this.

I think they did a really good job making them and having the clinic the day before and having materials for them to make them was even better.
