150 Million Hot Dogs!!

United States

150 Million Hot Dogs!!! That's right! One hundred and fifty million hot dogs! That’s what I just heard on the news. That Americans will consume 150 million hot dogs TODAY, on the Fourth of July. Well, I won’t be one of them. We had talked about having a cook out today but we are expecting rain again. Do you eat a lot of hot dogs? How do you like your hot dogs.? I like mine with chili, onions and mustard, just like this picture shows. I make my own chili, a recipe I learned in West Virginia. Picture by Pixabay

I won't be eating any hotdogs today either. They are pretty high on the list of foods I would rather go hungry than eat.

Yes, hot dogs are not a very healthy, in my opinion. But, can you imagine that 150 million will be consumed in one day. That's seems crazy!!!

@IreneVincent That does seem like a lot...but when you consider the hot-dog eating contests and that the current population is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 320 million...that's less than half a hot dog per person. And hot dogs aren't exactly expensive cuisine, so most folks who want them can afford them.

No, I don't eat hot dogs much. That's good for the economy though.

Many people like hot dogs and it's interesting to learn how they like them prepared. Some like them with chili and onions, some with sauerkraut, some with just ketchup, some like relish. I once ordered a hot dog in Canada and it was very different than what I had eaten in West Virginia.

I don't eat them very often myself. And I only eat one if I eat them at all.

No July 4 in Latvia @IreneVincent but I do love hot dogs now and then and just the way you described them. Perhaps you can let us know your recipe.

It's a secret recipe. LOL My children always expect me to make the chili for the hot dogs. None of them knows my recipe.

Yes, that could be true about gaining the weight. Hot dogs are not very healthy, but Americans consume them by the millions.

Wow! That is a lot of Hot Dogs! L.O.L. I don't really care for them we eat them rarely once in a while, But mine has to be grilled for sure or I won't eat it. It rained here last night after the fireworks and this morning and supposed to feel like 110 degrees out there so we won't be grilling today either. When I do eat the hot dog after it is grilled I like mustard, ketchup, relish. onions and jalapenos

We rarely eat them, but we did have them on the 4th. It was really our only nod to the holiday, as we stayed home and did not see any fireworks.
