Help! My Toes are Cramping!

United States
July 6, 2016 9:24am CST
Guess it is a sign that my body needs a little rest! My toes keep cramping and needless to say, my feet hurt too. I am drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated. But, I guess being on my feet so much is taking a toll on them. At least the heavy cleaning is finally finished. I have been moving things into the new place. The kitchen cupboards are filling fast. Now on to the bathroom and the rest of the house. Maybe I should get a pedicure after this is all said and done.

not just water, might need electrolytes and stuff, Power-aide sugar free powder (or just power-aide) or Gatorade can help with that

After all this cleaning and scrubbing you are going to need a pedicure and it would make you feel so good. Glad to hear the heavy cleaning is finished. Next will be the bathroom and I don't envy you that job. Have a nice day.

Hubby has to replace the floor and install the 220 outlet for the dryer. Still need to put the bathroom stuff away. Bringing the linens today and placing them in the closets. I'll keep a few for here.

@Marcyaz yes indeed! Hubby is taking out two windows and sealing the space. Lot of work involved with that.

I have heard that eating bananas will help with cramping. Give that a try.

It's hard being at work and then all of a sudden the toes start cramping up and you can't take your shoe off!!

If I were at work and my toes were cramping I would remove the shoe and rub out the cramp. People would just have to deal. No sense in having pain.

@ElusiveButterfly Most times it happens when I'm with a customer. So I just have to ignore or I try to take my shoe off if they can't see it.

@Susan2015 well in that case, I fully understand.

Yep, sound like you are working too hard. Mine did that the last time I painted the ceilings in this house, using a long pole with roller attached, which meant standing on those hardwood floors for hours on end. You do deserve a pedicure.

Ya know, I have never had a pedicure. I think I do deserve one!

Your legs and feet probably need a little rest, maybe if you elevate them for a little while it will help those cramps.

I did that yesterday and fell asleep. LOL. I am really not doing a lot today. It is supposed to be in the 90's.

@ElusiveButterfly It is closer to 100F here today and so humid. My husband and I actually spent about an hour outside gardening. But it was early and now we'll take it easy for the rest of the day.

@Juliaacv Wow, that is brutal! It is hot in the new place despite the fans going. The breeze is somewhat refreshing. Not by much though. I am taking a break and packing a few more boxes. Have to go to the store for window cleaner. Thought I had some, but didn't. Poor hubby is working hard, but taking breaks too. The walls look great!

Only have the basics in the cupboards. Brought everything that I don't use daily to the new place.

My toes usually only cramp when my feet are cold. I hope you can find time when this is all done to go get that pedicure...you'll have earned a bit of pampering!

I drink a lot of Gatorade and coconut water to avoid crams. We need our sodium and potassium!

Coconut water sounds great, but Gatorade gags me. I am having one of my hubby's Propel flavored water. It has electrolites in it.

You need to rest your feet and legs. Soak your feet in warm water, you should feel a bit better

I am relaxing a bit more today. The thought of going into that trailer with no ac and the fact that it is going to be 90+ makes me wanna hibernate. I have the AC running here and will pack up a few things. I'll bring them down shortly. Have to bring the hubby his lunch.

It would be prudent to ensure that you perform regular exercises regularly. Talk of walking every now and then, whenever it is possible. This will improve blood circulation in your feet.

I am on my feet all day with my work. The added stress of lifting, bending, moving heavy items has taken a toll.

In the heat you need more than plain water. It was suggested to me yesterday that I should do the classic apple cider with vinegar drink, and add a pinch of sea salt--does the same thing as gatorade.

I'll have to give it a try. Thanks to the colonoscopy prep, I no longer can tolerate Gatorade!
